Brianna and Cole talked about their day as I captured a few preliminary candids. Their afternoon was spent playing on motorized scooters and sipping margaritas in Colorado Springs; while they told me how exhausted they were, I couldn’t tell by how put together and smiley they were. The genuine happiness expressed between these two was palpable and augmented by the radiant glow surrounding them.
Lively Run Dairy is a staple of the Finger Lakes Region’s food and beverage industry. Equipped with a new generation of ownership and a mission to stitch together the local food scene, Lively Run needed a brand new set of promotional photos and a branded video.
To match the brand story of our previous shoot at Joy Thai, I wanted to create a moody set of images that can be used on both a printed menu and social media applications for Ernie Cafe. I opted for simplicity in this shoot, choosing a white background to amplify the color of the tea and to reflect the quality of the beverages.
Formal business patrons and freelancers alike fill the seats along the bar, so different in their attire but sharing the same maverick attitude only The Envoy can attract.
This gradient from morning to night time ambiance is perhaps the best metaphor for Duane Street’s bar offerings. The menu ranges from high-end cocktails to IPAs from breweries just a stone’s throw away. Though the spectrum in the menu might feel as though the bar is trying to please everyone, it feels more like an invitation to explore.
Williamsport, Pennsylvania may not have the food scene of the larger PA cities, but nearly every restaurant in the Williamsport area holds its own with a unique taste and "under the radar" vibe. Such is the case for Joy Thai Cuisine, the only higher-end Thai restaurant within Williamsport's city limits.
The creative team at Construction Specialties needed a clever way to position the company as a designer-oriented association while promoting the new Acrovyn by Design pattern collection. In order to reach creatives, the team decided to launch a contest aimed at interior designers and artists in which contestants could submit their original black and white designs. The winning design would become part of a limited edition Acrovyn by Design pattern collection, and the winning entrant would receive a $5,000 prize.
If food is sacred, the kitchen is a temple. Through the Williamsport Community Kitchen, Lisa hopes to change Williamsport's food scene by incubating food-related businesses and encouraging their growth. Foodies and entrepreneurs can now enjoy the freedom to practice their craft grow their businesses, all while contributing to the growth of Williamsport as a food-lover's town.
Alex Hines, bassist and vocalist, found an opportunity to gain recognition for Maitland in NPR’s 2017 Tiny Desk Contest, a competition open to unsigned musicians. The top prize includes a Tiny Desk taping in DC and a tour of the United States with NPR and Lagunitas Brewing. To officially enter, Maitland needed a video of themselves performing an original song at any type of desk. Alex approached me in hopes I could record a last-minute performance and quickly produce a video suitable for Maitland’s submission.
The juxtaposition of Jacqueline’s grace within the industrial setting was not as jarring as I thought it might be. Something about Jak’s inviting presence positioned her somewhere between rawness and elegance. Even among the bending and twisting, she just seemed to fit.
This year, I witnessed the nuptials of seven couples, attending as either a friend, a photographer, or the bride herself. Although plenty of people will say that all weddings are the same, these weddings reminded me how blessed I am to know and love people so unique that every wedding was an extraordinary experience. One ceremony was a sweet Hawaiian kiss; another, a dancing-fueled party extending into all hours of the night.
